Born in 1942, Alex Williams trained at St Martin's School of Art and The University of Wales. After four years teaching in Hertfordshire he moved to Hay-on-Wye to set up his design and print studio. It was in North Hollywood in the late 70's that he became established as a full time artist. Returning to the Welsh Border country was catalytic in his development as a painter of farm landscapes, animals, buildings and machinery. He moved his studio to the Isle of Wight in 2012 and exhibits regularly at The Fosse Gallery Stowe on the Wold. His biography "The Survival of an Artist, Alex Williams" is available online
